I always considered architecture extremely influential, challenging and interesting at the same time and since I was young I thought of it as a dream career. What I love about it, is that there are no boundaries to thinking, 'the sky is the limit', and I could express my creativity and potential on a big scale, where my work would have a positive effect on lives of other people. I want the society to see my work, be influenced by it and interact with it.
My desire is to go to university, where I can extend my horizons. That's why Manchester School of Architecture is the right place to let my potential and creativity grow and keep me motivated as MSA was voted the top school in the UK offering courses to the full range of qualifications necessary to become a professional architect. As a hard working, passionate person, who is extremely motivated, responsible and always aims high, I believe that I am the right person to study in Manchester School of Architecture.
While visiting different places in Europe, I had a chance to discover varieties of different styles of architecture. I was hugely amazed by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, because of its simple structure and astonishing design. It gives this overwhelming feeling. The iron structure is the icon of France and a dream of many people. This is one of many examples where architecture plays a big part in society and it can make people happy.
One of my favourite architects is Antoni Gaudi who always represented very much of himself through his work, what I find very inspiring. He is well known for his very individual and unique style of buildings in Spain. Gaudi's passion was architecture, however it wasn't his only passion, so in his creations are often mixtures of religion, nature and love for the place where he was born: Catalonia. As those factors played a big part in his life and he wasn't afraid to show it. Many of his works appeal to be childish, naturalistic, colourful, but this combination makes it extraordinary and interesting. Unfortunately, I never saw any of his structures, however, I am very keen to explore his work in real life, because it should be getting attention it deserves.
Architecture is not only mixture of different styles and cultures but it also includes history, geography, psychology, politics, etc., and this is what makes it so fascinating. That's why I am sure that if I choose this path, I will not experience monotony as my potential and creativity will lead me through my life and I am ready to face one of the most challenging, but how appealing profession!
